My Approach

Connecting Your Life to Your Wealth

It’s the important things – our families, our values, the impact we have on others – that connect us.  And although making sense of it all can be difficult at times, asking the right questions can make things clearer.  So, when we sit down to discuss your financial situation, I want to learn about the life questions that have a tendency to keep you up at night, such as:

“Should I start my own business?”

“Is it better to leave my kids everything, nothing, or something in between?”

“How do I set up a charitable fund?”

“Will my family be okay when I’m gone?”

This is where I come in.

Backed by Stifel’s extensive resources, I develop comprehensive wealth management plans focused on your needs. However complex your financial situation, I will take the time necessary to listen first, and then begin to build a customized strategy that aligns with the long-term goals that truly matter to you and your family.

About Me

I harness my 35 years of investment industry experience to serve high-net-worth investors, families, and businesses.  I believe it is critical for financial advisors to have access to the latest research and products to support client relationships, which is why I joined Stifel, an industry- leading wealth management and investment banking firm.  Since joining Stifel, my clients have felt the benefits of being with a firm that believes – as I do – in putting clients first.

I began my investment industry career in 1987 and joined Stifel in 2018.  Prior to joining Stifel, I served as a Financial Advisor and Branch Manager with UBS Financial Securities, Inc. and a Financial Advisor and Senior Resident Director with Merrill Lynch.  I earned a Bachelor of General Studies from Louisiana State University and hold Series 7, 8, 63, and 65 securities licenses, as well as life, health, and variable insurance licenses (including annuities).

Valuing the community in which I live and serve, I am a past president of Capital City Kiwanis,
Civitan Club of Lafayette, Le Cercle de Bacchus, and Baton Rouge Chapter Sigma Chi Alumni Association.  Additionally, I served as a past board member of the St. James Place Foundation and the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge Foundation.

As much as I love living in Baton Rouge, I enjoy visiting my twin children, Wren and Ramsey (both Ole Miss graduates), in Dallas, Texas, where they live and work.  When not serving clients, I enjoy running, cycling, practicing hot yoga, golfing, fishing, and attending LSU sports.

Areas of Focus

Longevity Planning
Retirement income and insurance planning strategies

When first starting out, many of my clients spend their working years building a retirement nest egg with little thought about liquidity and access once they leave their careers behind.  By reviewing your current income sources and assets, I’ll help you create a plan designed to supply you with a steady stream income stream during retirement and beyond.  We’ll also cover topics including Medicare, long-term care, and life insurance.

Wealth Transfer Strategies
Inheritance and business succession planning

I work closely with my clients to conduct pre-transaction planning to identify attractive opportunities to structure and to transfer wealth in a tax-efficient manner, taking into account all their specific needs and circumstances.  Planning in advance allows us time to consider your options, helping you properly structure and execute a transition plan that is customized to your specific needs.

Life Transition Planning
Marriage, divorce, or loss of a loved one

Both your life and the markets will change over time.  By periodically checking in to discuss changes in your life and revisiting your strategy, I want to help ensure your plan continues to align with your goals.

I am highly experienced in helping my clients through:

  • A death of a family member or friend
  • Divorce or separation
  • Hospitalization or change in health
  • Job loss
